The floors had not been swept, nor washed. We spent 3 hours cleaning and sanitizing dishes, silverware etc for use.

The table cloth was so old it was faded to black and white. The bathroom light fixture gave shocks if your hands were wet, the toilet had not been scrubbed, the toilet had to be hand flushed by pulling up the plunger in the tank.

There was a wad of tin foil shoved in the ceiling above the shower that we assume may have been a light at one time. One of the bedroom doors did not open from the outside, thankfully it was not one of the children that got locked in. The toys out back where all broken etc etc etc.

I emailed the owner as soon as we arrived to let him know about our concerns, 24 hours later a maintenance man came by and told us it was seeds in the drawer. He dumped the poop from a few drawers and cleaned only them. He did a few maintenance things. He told us that there were other units available however we were never offered anything. The only indication that we had that the owner had even received my email was that a maintenance man arrived.

The following morning 40 minutes before check out, the owner called to offer us another night stay free. I requested another date some time in the summer. The response I got was that the unit had been cleaned. I requested a date or a refund, I have been ignored since. I left the unit in much better shape then when I arrived. I cleaned the toilets and washed the floors.

We even left the clean and sanitized dishes and cutlery out on the cleaned table so they would not have to do it twice, if they chose to clean the cupboards. I would NOT recommend these rentals nor would I recommend dealing with these people, very unprofessional!!!

The beach has washrooms and is walking distance to many restaurants. Dogs are restricted from June to Labour Day, I believe there's a small area that dogs are allowed. DO NOT leave your garbage on the ground.

DO NOT leave garbage in the lake. DO NOT use a privacy tent to use the beach as your toilet. You WILL be fined for this. Use the public toilets! Do NOT leave your garbage in the bushes. DO NOT leave your diapers in the sand or in the lake. Take everything out with you. DO NOT use the lake as your personal toilet. Remember the person swimming next to you is there and might not this.
