What rangers jersey should i buy
On the arm, were three bands, which were white on either side of red. The following season the Rangers add a white outline around the red letters. This made the team name and jersey number jump out. The Pants begin to feature a blue stripe down the sides of the legs as well as a blue stripe around the edge of the pant legs. The pants undergo yet another change as now the blue stripe added just the season before is outlined in white.
The font of the word Rangers is changed slightly. Instead of long letters the word Rangers is printed out in smaller more defined letters. These letters begin to resemble the Rangers more modern jerseys. In 42 the Rangers put a white drop in behind the letters and numbers. This added some depth and dimension to the jersey and helped it jump out on TV still black and white and to fans in the stands. This style died after one season.
The Rangers make another change to the letters on the front of the jersey letting the letters stand upright rather than tilted. The Rangers add an away jersey that is similar to the home version aside from white being the base color of the jersey. This meant that the letters of the jersey were blue with a red shadow behind them. One of the new features on the jersey was a neck yoke striping pattern. The Rangers become the first team in NHL history to wear colored gloves.
I have a confession to make: I always liked the "pajama" jerseys, and I will tell you why: these were the first jerseys I remember seeing the Rangers wear when I was a kid, so they will always have a special place in my heart. Although seeing Mike Dunham wear one when they brought them back a few years ago was very painful. The Rangers brought back their original style for with one change, the road jerseys now said "New York" instead of "Rangers".
In , the road jerseys go back to the original "Rangers" on the front. In the mid 90's, the NHL began introducing alternate jerseys, or "third jerseys". Some were absolutely hideous , and some were pretty cool. The Rangers blue Liberty jersey was pretty well liked by fans, and in the Rangers introduced a white Liberty jersey to be worn at home.
This is still my favorite all-time Rangers jersey, I just love the look of it. The Rangers replaced the diagonal lettering with their main logo on the front of the jersey. The stripe pattern on the sleeves, shoulders and bottom also changed. The number was changed to a generic font with no outline or drop shadow behind it. Not even the pants were safe, they were changed from red to blue. However, one slight change to this jersey came in players names were added to the away ones too.
This jersey only lasted two seasons. Ferguson was fired after the season. However, it too came with some changes. Also ditched from the sweater were the laces on the collar, but those were vanquished when the Ferguson jerseys came into existence. The stripe pattern on the sleeves and bottom of the blue sweater also had two blue stripes added in between the white and red.
In , the player name on the back of the jersey went from being straight to being on a vertical arch. Of course, these are the jerseys the Rangers donned when Mark Messier and company broke the year Stanley Cup drought in Both jerseys remained like this until But in , for the first time in their history, the Rangers added a third jersey. In , the Rangers introduced a third jersey to their uniform lineup. The jersey was navy blue with a different stripe pattern of red, white and even silver thrown into the mix.
The next year, the jersey changed to white for one season before turning back into a navy blue sweater. This jersey was highly popular among fans and was the Blueshirts third sweater until it was retired in when the NHL switched to Reebok as the jersey manufacturer.
On the Rangers main blue jerseys, the team went back to its original stripe pattern in Gone was the blue stripes in between the white and red stripes on the sleeves and bottom. Also brought back were the collar laces on the main home and away jerseys. Despite the NHL changing jersey manufacturers twice so far in the 21st century, the design of Rangers jersey stays like this to this day. The home jersey starts with a maroon base with a blue bottom and blue shoulders that go down the sleeves.
There are silver stripes that line the sleeves, collar, and bottom of the jersey. The away jersey is identical to the home jersey with a white base, and marron where there was blue. The collar is also lined with blue on the away jersey. The old Colorado Rockies jerseys were quite nice, and many wanted to see a throwback for the alternate. The team sort of did that, which is why some are not a fan of this uniform. It starts with a dark blue base, white striping, and a thin white stripe along the bottom.
The lower part of the sleeves is maroon on this jersey as well. The shoulder patch is the Colorado flag on this jersey. If the organization went full throwback with the correct colors, more people would like this uniform. The Avalanche really made up for the alternate jersey with their new reverse retro that they will wear starting in It is a white base with maroon stripes along the bottom of the jersey and sleeves.
The collar is also matching in color. The logo is a throwback to the Quebec Nordiques in the maroon and blue that the Avalanche usually rock. There is also fleur-de-lis that lines the bottom of the jersey, also in maroon. Colorado truly has a great jersey lineup for next season. All four jerseys are different, yet they all look like they fit together. The retro jersey is outstanding, and the ones the team will wear more often are also quite nice.
As the oldest active team in the NHL, the Canadiens have a lot of pressure put on them when it comes to jerseys. The collar is white with a blue lining. The away jersey is a bit simpler, as it is mainly all white. There is red at the bottom of the sleeves and on the shoulder, and there are small red and blue stripes on the bottom of the jersey, as well as the same blue-lined collar on the home uniform.
Other than that, there is no excess design on the jersey. Considering the lack of options the team had to get creative with the reverse retro, I think they did an outstanding job. The new alternate jersey is almost identical to the current home jersey, with a blue base instead of red. Where there was blue on the old jersey, there is red on the retro. The collar is red with a blue liner rather than the white featured on the primary jerseys.
The Canadiens' adidas ReverseRetro jersey is inspired by the color that marked the team's first sweater in The design is a take on the one worn from to — a period during which the club won six Stanley Cups.
Along with the Avalanche, the Panthers have some of the best home and away jerseys in the league. The home uniform starts with a vibrant red base, with white and gold striping through the middle of the jersey and on the sleeves. Blue is incorporated into the jersey in the collar and in a thin stripe on the bottom of the jersey. There is also the flag of Florida on both sleeves.
The only changes to the white jersey come in the striping. The white on the home jersey becomes red on the away uniform. The Panthers are one of the few teams in the NHL to have a different logo for their home and away jerseys. The blue throwback jersey, reminiscent of what the team wore from , is stunning.
The old leaping panther logo is used on this alternate jersey, with the palm tree logo used as the shoulder patch. The shoulders of this jersey are red, with a gold lining. The bottom of the jersey and sleeves also features a gold lining, with white and red stripes.
Florida did a great job with this jersey, as they executed all the basics perfectly, making for a really nice looking uniform. All three jerseys that will be worn by the Panthers next season look great on their own and together. There is a good mix of modern and throwback, and there is a good amount of variety in terms of the colors and logos on the jerseys. For the season, the Coyotes will wear the beloved Kachina Coyote jersey more than they have in previous seasons.
